HEAD of the Local Police in Torrox for 12 years, Jose Roque Fernandez has been jailed for three years for a document forgery crime.
The events took place in 2007, when Roque created an official certificated with the signature of the then Mayor, Toñi Claros, without her permission in favour of another officer of Local Police, Monica Martinez.
The certificate was aimed at proving that the woman had taught courses on gender-based violence and self-defence, although the courses had never taken place.
Malaga Provincial Court has given him until January 30 to enter prison of his own volition, as well as pay a €1,080 fine.
