FREE WiFi is due to hit Marbella streets in time for Easter.
Smartphone users will have one hour of free access to the internet in public areas across the town thanks to 24 antennas being installed on public buildings and urban fittings.
The service is already in place on the San Pedro boulevard, where three antennas give a signal to the walkway.
Locations for the antennas have been chosen by Excom (the service provider) and municipal technicians, who announced that unfortunately Plaza del Mar, Plaza de la Constitucion, Plaza de la Iglesia, Plaza Antonio Banderas, Avenida del Mar and Parque de la Alameda would not receive the service as reception would not be good enough.
Although the connection speed is not expected to be anything to tweet home about, Excom stated that it will be sufficient to use WhatsApp or check websites, and better speeds will be available at low prices.
