LACK OF RAINFALL: Has become a problem for owners of livestock.
THE lack of rainfall in the province of Almeria has been a huge issue for crop farmers recently, but it has also become a problem for owners of livestock.
One of the main problems is the lack of grass. Many livestock owners have been obliged to buy food for their animals, particularly goats and sheep, which are the most common in the province. Some farmers have even had to buy water in barrels so that the animals can drink, as many of the fountains in the province have dried up and are of no use.
Many farmers and shepherds feel that they may need to ask the government for help. They are disheartened by the situation, as they can only afford to spend so much money on food and water for the animals, but at the same time want to keep the creatures healthy and safe.
