AN INSURANCE group has released figures revealing the average damage costs of domestic fires throughout Spain.
The Insurance Business Association (UNESPA) revealed Salamanca’s fires cost the least, at €499 for an average household blaze; 71 per cent lower than the national average.
The report showed insurance payouts for fires in Las Rozas, Madrid reached €11,684, as well as €7,074 in Alcala de Guadaira, Sevilla. Damage from house fires in Barcelona was slightly less expensive to fix, at €4,930 in Manresa.
The cheapest areas were Valladolid at an average of €692 and San Sebastian de los Reyes, Madrid, at €714. In total, insurers spend around €525 million each year repairing fire damage.
