LUXURY superyacht the Prince Abdulaziz has docked in Almeria port. Resembling more a small cruise liner than a leisure boat, the Saudi royal family’s floating palace arrived at the provincial capital on Wednesday, having sailed from Gibraltar. When a Danish company built the 147-metre long ship for King Fahd in 1984 it was the biggest megayacht in the world, and it held on to the status for more than 20 years. It remains in the top 10 today. It has capacity for 64 passengers and a 65-strong crew, and boasts its own helipad, hospital, cinema and mosque. What the yacht does not have us is an onboard swimming pool or sundeck. Spanish press reported the Saudi superyacht is expected to remain docked at Almeria port’s Levante quay until next Thursday.
