British Airways has cancelled all flights travelling into the Egyptian capital for seven days due to security reasons.
The exact nature behind the move has not yet been released however a spokesman for British Airways explained “We constantly review our security measures at all airports in the world, and we have suspended flights to Cairo for seven days as a precaution to make another review.”
“The safety of our passengers and crew is always a priority, and we would never operate a plane unless we are sure of it,” continued the spokesman.
The restrictions started yesterday (Saturday July 20) and will continue until next weekend.
The move comes after the British Foreign Ministry on Friday increased the terror threat in Egypt against foreign travellers.
