While the cryptocurrency industry is associated with volatile markets, speculative trading, and flat-out scams, a new breed of digital assets has evolved – one that aims to grow flowers instead of weeds. These charitable cryptos combine the power of blockchain technology with the spirit of giving, channelling a portion of their holdings to various philanthropic causes.
Tokens like Binance Coin (BNB), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Caged Beasts (BEASTS) take on animal cruelty, poverty, and environmental issues, proving that crypto can be a force for good. In this article, we look at how these tokens are making a difference, one transaction at a time.
BNB is the native currency of the Binance ecosystem, which started as a mere crypto exchange but has since expanded into other forays. In 2017, Binance launched the Binance Coin via an initial coin offering, and in 2022, Binance Coin rebranded to just BNB.
In April 2018, Binance launched the Binance Charity Foundation. As the world’s first blockchain-enabled donation platform, the Foundation aims to advance innovation in humanitarian support. In November 2022, Binance Charity raised funds to support families in the Horn of Africa through UNICEF. Binance also donated $100,000 to the Italian Red Cross for flood relief in May 2023.
Dogecoin is the very first meme coin, originally created as a parody of Bitcoin but soon morphed into a legitimate cryptocurrency. Many businesses have begun accepting DOGE as a method of payment, and it has got the attention of quirky Tesla CEO Elon Musk, rapper Snoop Dogg, and KISS legend Gene Simmons.
In 2014, members of the Dogecoin team formed the Dogecoin Foundation to provide support and advocacy for the token’s ecosystem. The Foundation has supported various charitable organisations. On January 19, 2014, a fundraiser to raise $50,000 for the Jamaican Bobsled Team was established. In March 2015, the Foundation began collecting donations to build a well in the Tana River basin in Kenya for its Doge4Water project.
Caged Beasts is an upcoming meme coin that’s recently launched its presale. As a community-driven token, it plans to host competitions and giveaways across its social media platform and has an innovative referral system which allows users to earn a 20% commission for spreading the word.
Its tokenomics follows the concept of ‘Caged Liquidity’, which means 30% of its presale funds will be locked up for liquidity. Caged Beasts donates a portion of its funds to fight animal cruelty, fulfilling mascot Rabbit 4001’s goals to save his creatures from human rule. Along with NFT releases and its own SWAP, Caged Beasts has a lot going for it, so sign up and help Rabbit 4001 unleash the beasts.
The cryptocurrency world is witnessing a shift towards charitable initiatives. BNB, Dogecoin, and Caged Beasts have unleashed the power of their respective communities to make a difference. These tokens should inspire us to rethink the potential of cryptocurrencies beyond financial gain.
