Visitors to this popular Costa del Sol destination can now enjoy an exciting new gastronomic trail that brings together tapas and creative cocktails from 16 participating establishments. Running from April 15 to May 17, the very first ever Torrox Ruta de la Tapa y el Cóctel promises plenty of flavour and tasty fun for everyone.

Free participation with “Tapaporte” rewards

Anyone can join without charge simply by collecting a special ‘tapaporte’ booklet. These guides list every venue and sponsor involved, available from the venues themselves, tourist offices and citizen service points in Torrox. Printed in Spanish, German and English, 1,200 copies help international visitors follow the route with ease.

Each tapa is accompanied by a drink, or each cocktail costs just four euros, making the experience accessible for all budgets. Several venues have added cocktail tastings this year, expanding the variety on offer and giving participants even more reasons to explore different parts of the town.

Attractive prizes for completing the trail

Participants who visit every stop and get their tapaporte fully stamped qualify for a prize draw. Rewards include dinners valued at €50, €60 or €70 each, plus cocktails worth €14, €21 or €28 depending on the placing. First prize offers four dinners and four cocktails; second prize, three of each; and third prize, two of each.

As well, the first 30 people to submit a completed booklet receive a personalised T-shirt. The same incentive goes to the three main draw winners. Separate awards recognise the best tapa and best cocktail, judged by the participants themselves on a scale of one to ten. Winners in each category enjoy a weekend for two in a Granada hotel, worth €300 spending money per prize.

Boost for local economy and gastronomy

Organisers hope the event will encourage people to discover hidden corners of Torrox while supporting independent businesses. Free entry and multilingual materials remove barriers for those who join in the fun from different countries. Social media channels will share full prize details and updates throughout the five-week period.

Residents and holidaymakers will receive a warm invitation to take part and taste the creativity on display. With prizes designed to reward exploration, this route delivers both culinary enjoyment and the chance to win attractive rewards. Early feedback suggests strong interest, making the event a welcome addition to the spring calendar on the eastern Costa del Sol.
