Police officers responding to a life-threatening medical call in Alhaurin el Grande were stunned to discover a lethal secret cache of unlicensed firearms and over a thousand rounds of ammunition.

Local police units rushed to the property in the Malaga province following a telephone call about a resident who was in a critical condition and unable to reach the door. After climbing over the perimeter wall, the officers entered the premises out of necessity to save a life. Officers found a lone individual tied up and suffering from a severe health crisis. Paramedics were immediately called to the scene to provide emergency treatment.

Unexpected discovery during medical rescue

On examining the property, police found loaded revolver, sitting in plain sight on a hallway table near the entrance. Naturally, this immediately caught the attention of the attending officers. This discovery led to an urgent investigation by the Guardia Civil to determine the legal status of the weapon. More checks confirmed that the individual lacked any valid firearms licence or official permit to own such a device.

Detectives subsequently conducted a thorough search of the residence to assess the scale of the illegal activity. Their inspection uncovered a much larger haul than initially feared, including several handguns and another revolver that was also fully loaded and ready for use.

Massive haul of unlicensed ammunition seized

Boxes containing more than a thousand cartridges of varying calibres were confiscated during the raid. Forensic scientists said that the seizure included high-velocity ammunition specifically designed for long-range rifles, posing a severe risk to public safety.

Evidence gathered during the operation has led to the resident being formally investigated for the illegal possession of weaponry. All legal proceedings and the confiscated items have now been handed over to the local judicial authorities. Officers from the Alhaurin el Grande Guardia Civil headquarters led the operation, making sure that the dangerous arsenal was removed from the community. Courts are expected to review the case in the coming weeks.
