The British tourist found dead with catastrophic head injuries at a rented villa in Mallorca has now been revealed as former The Only Way Is Essex star Jake Hall.
The 35-year-old reality TV personality was discovered inside a property in the quiet northern municipality of Santa Margalida during the early hours of Wednesday morning, triggering a major emergency response from the Guardia Civil.
Police were alerted shortly before 7.30am and rushed to the scene, where officers began investigating the circumstances surrounding Hall’s sudden death.
Investigators later revealed Hall had suffered severe head injuries and was found with shards of glass embedded in his head, leading detectives to focus on the theory he may have died in a tragic accident involving a glass door inside the property.
Police treating death as suspected accident
Authorities have already questioned six other people who were staying at the villa at the time of the incident, including four men and two women. Their identities and nationalities have not been disclosed.
A police source close to the investigation said officers are currently working on the theory Hall’s death was accidental, although enquiries remain ongoing.
“We are focusing on the theory the victim died in a tragic accident after hitting his head against the glass door, but it is still too early to say definitely what happened,” the source reportedly stated.
No arrests have been made.
The Guardia Civil confirmed an autopsy is due to take place in Palma in an effort to establish the exact cause of death and determine precisely how the fatal injuries occurred.
TOWIE star’s death shocks fans
Hall rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, where he became well known for his relationship with fellow cast member Chloe Lewis. He also had a child with Misse Beqiri who starred in The Real Housewives of Cheshire.
During his time on the ITV reality series, Hall remained one of the show’s most recognisable personalities.
Following news of his death, tributes are expected to pour in from friends, former co-stars and fans alike.
Emergency response at Mallorca villa
The incident happened in Santa Margalida, an area popular with British tourists seeking luxury villa stays and quieter accommodation away from Mallorca’s busiest resorts.
It remains unclear whether the property where Hall died had been rented as a holiday home or was being occupied on a longer-term basis.
A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil confirmed only limited details while investigations continue.
“I can confirm the dead man is a British national,” the spokesperson said.
“The incident that led to his death occurred at a rented property in Santa Margalida. An investigation is ongoing. There is not much more we can say at this stage.”
Investigation ongoing
Forensic officers continued examining the property throughout Wednesday while detectives worked to piece together Hall’s final hours.
British consular officials are expected to support Hall’s family as the investigation continues in Mallorca.
