Club Elsa’s popular Charity Rastrillo returned to Palma from May 22 to 24, bringing three days of vintage finds, second-hand bargains and solidarity shopping to the Velòdrom Illes Balears.

The long-running charity market opened daily from 10am to 6pm with free entry, attracting residents and visitors searching for affordable treasures while supporting local charitable initiatives.

Shoppers browsed through a wide variety of donated items including clothing, shoes, books, toys, paintings, home decoration and household products, with many visitors arriving early to explore the large selection of second-hand bargains.

Charity shopping and recycling combined

Club Elsa, which describes itself as a pioneer of solidarity recycling since 1977, once again transformed the venue into one of Mallorca’s best-known charity shopping events.

Organisers highlighted the importance of giving donated items a second life while also raising funds to support vulnerable people and families across the island.

The event combined sustainability, recycling and community spirit, reflecting growing interest in second-hand shopping and environmentally conscious consumption.

Visitors also enjoyed cafeteria and buffet services throughout the market, helping create a social atmosphere where many residents treated the event as both a shopping opportunity and a community gathering.

Strong support from residents

Organisers reported strong attendance across the three-day event, with many residents returning each year to support the charity market and search for unique vintage pieces and household bargains.

Club Elsa continues playing an important role in Mallorca’s charitable and community network, using fundraising initiatives to finance assistance programmes and social support projects on the island.

The annual rastrillo has become one of Palma’s most established charity events and continues attracting both long-term supporters and new visitors interested in sustainable shopping and local solidarity initiatives.

For many attendees, the market once again demonstrated how community-driven events can successfully combine environmental awareness, affordable shopping and practical support for charitable causes across Mallorca.
