Fashion, fundraising and four-legged friends came together in style as APASA’s annual charity fashion show returned to Jávea on Saturday 20 June, drawing a crowd of supporters for one of the animal rescue organisation’s most popular events of the year.

Held at Golf Club Jávea, the event combined a stylish catwalk showcase with a powerful cause, raising money to support the charity’s ongoing work caring for abandoned and rescued dogs across the Marina Alta.

A night of fashion and fundraising

Guests gathered for an evening of fashion, entertainment and community spirit as volunteer models took to the runway wearing collections supplied by local businesses and supporters.

The annual event has become a highlight of APASA’s fundraising calendar, attracting residents from across the Costa Blanca who are keen to support the shelter while enjoying a social evening with friends.

The catwalk featured a variety of summer styles and accessories, creating a lively atmosphere that kept the audience entertained throughout the night. Applause regularly filled the room as models showcased the latest looks, while supporters embraced the opportunity to contribute to a cause close to many hearts.

Supporting rescued dogs

While the evening was packed with glamour, the focus remained firmly on APASA’s mission.

The charity, which has been operating in Jávea for decades, provides shelter, veterinary care, food and rehabilitation for dogs that have been abandoned, neglected or surrendered. Volunteers work year-round to ensure the animals receive the care they need while waiting to be adopted into permanent homes.

Fundraising events such as the fashion show play a vital role in helping cover the significant costs associated with running the shelter. Veterinary treatment, vaccinations, food, maintenance and day-to-day care all rely heavily on donations and community support.

Community comes together

Following the event, APASA thanked everyone involved, from organisers and volunteers to the businesses, models and guests who helped make the evening a success.

The charity described the fashion show as a wonderful celebration of generosity and community spirit, highlighting the strong support it continues to receive from residents across the region.

Many attendees also took the opportunity to learn more about the dogs currently looking for homes and the charity’s ongoing work.

For APASA, the fashion show was about much more than clothes and catwalks. It was a reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together behind a common cause.

And while the models may have taken centre stage for the evening, the real stars were the dogs whose futures will benefit from the funds raised.
