From inspiring art exhibitions and artisan markets to unique opportunities for aspiring models, there is no shortage of creative events taking place across the Costa Blanca this summer. Residents and visitors can explore local artwork, support independent traders, discover handmade products and even step in front of the camera as part of a major advertising campaign celebrating the diversity of the local community.
Creative voices and artistic inspiration
Artists from Bigastro are showcasing their work at Alicante Provincial Palace as part of a new exhibition running until 16 July.
The exhibition, titled Alicante, Landscapes and Traditions, has been organised by Big Arte, an art association based in Bigastro that was founded in 2003.
The collection features works inspired by Alicante Province’s landscapes, customs and local traditions and is on display in the Provincial Palace in Alicante city centre.
Big Arte was established by four local art enthusiasts with the aim of promoting painting and other artistic disciplines in Bigastro and across the Vega Baja. More than 20 years later, the group now has around 20 members, including artists from neighbouring towns.
Art lovers can also visit Truther, the latest exhibition by artist Eva Borrás Villora at Casino Eldense in Elda. The collection explores themes of memory, dreams and personal experience through landscape-inspired paintings and will remain on display until 2 September. Admission is free.
Artisan markets and local treasures
Shoppers and craft lovers are being invited to Hondon de las Nieves next month for a Summer Evening Market packed with local produce, handmade gifts and artisan stalls.
The event takes place at the Hondon Hub on Monday, 6 July, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, offering visitors the chance to browse a variety of locally made products while supporting small businesses and craftspeople.
Meanwhile, bargain hunters can head to Orihuela Costa where Macklin’s Market returns to Via Park III on Saturday, 27 June, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Visitors will find a wide range of traders selling wax melts, jewellery, handbags, gifts, cakes, bakes and handcrafted products, making both markets ideal opportunities to discover unique items while supporting local businesses.
Could you be the next face of Zenia Boulevard?
Zenia Boulevard is looking for local residents to become the faces of its future advertising campaigns as part of its ongoing “We are all Models” initiative.
The shopping centre is inviting people of all ages, backgrounds and body types to take part in a model casting that celebrates real people rather than traditional modelling stereotypes.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to participate in professional photo shoots and feature in future promotional campaigns.
Applications are open until 30 September, and organisers say they are looking for genuine people who reflect the diversity of the Costa Blanca community.
Painted memories in Elda
An exhibition of landscape-inspired paintings exploring memory, dreams and personal experience is set to open at Elda’s Casino Eldense.
Truther, the latest collection by artist Eva Borrás Villora, will remain on display until 2 September.
Admission is free.
The exhibition uses landscapes as a starting point, blending them with memories and imagined scenes to create works that encourage visitors to pause and reflect. Through a series of paintings, Borrás explores themes of uncertainty, emotion and personal experience, transforming familiar settings into spaces shaped by recollection and imagination.
The artist describes painting as her way of understanding the world, explaining that the creative process involves accepting uncertainty and allowing each work to develop naturally.
