Cancer support organisation AECC is returning this year with its popular summer charity activities in Marbella. A gala dinner will be held for the 41st year with a golf tournament to raise funds. Both are meant to fund care programmes, research work and help for patients plus their families facing cancer.

Work session with city leaders

Mayor Angeles Muñoz held discussions with Santiago Gomez-Villares who leads AECC in Marbella. They reviewed key plans organised for the next season. Main items covered the upcoming gala plus the golf event before it.

Mayor Muñoz said the steady help the association gives throughout the year to patients and relatives. She mentioned town hall support for the group as a key reference in the city.

She also spoke about personal value the organisation brings in tough periods for those hit by illness. A patient who gets a diagnosis and then finds support gains much in treatment she explained.

The mayor praised the volunteers and the wider community base that supports association activities. Town hall intends to maintain full backing for every project the group develops.

Confirmed schedule for events

Gala dinner edition 41 occurs on 1 August inside Finca de La Concepcion. Golf tournament happens the day before on 31 July inside Real Club de Golf Las Brisas.

President Gomez-Villares expressed thanks for ongoing town hall help. He shared some facts about the solidarity events ahead. Money from these activities stays essential to sustain the programmes and services AECC runs in Marbella. These cover mental health support, family assistance and research projects.

Hoped for attendance and collection targets

Group expects several hundred guests at an event that grows stronger each year as a leading summer charity occasion. Collections in previous years reached close to €200,000. These resources will help keep efforts to raise life standards for everyone touched by cancer effects.

People from different backgrounds join these occasions to demonstrate unity against the disease. Past success demonstrates strong local commitment to health causes. Everyone involved works hard to make sure the money reaches those who need it most in their cancer journey.

Interested readers contact the AECC Marbella office on 952 776 800 or 952 861 853 from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon to book places for the golf tournament or gala dinner.
