Join the Melody Makers Singing Group in Ciudad Quesada

If you’ve always enjoyed singing but never joined a choir, the Melody Makers Singing Group in Ciudad Quesada could be just what you’re looking for.

The friendly international mixed-voice group is welcoming new members as rehearsals resume in September. There are no auditions, making it ideal for both experienced singers and complete beginners. Organisers say a love of singing and a willingness to have fun are the only requirements.

Formed in December 2022, the choir performs a varied repertoire covering everything from 1960s classics to modern favourites. Throughout the year, members take part in concerts and community events, raising money for local charities across the Costa Blanca.

Raising thousands for local charities

The group has already donated €1,100 each to AFA Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association and children’s charity Donaciones Torrevieja y Alrededores. Since its launch, Melody Makers has raised more than €7,000 for local causes.

As well as enjoying the social side of singing together, members know that every performance helps support organisations providing valuable services within the local community.

The choir has built a reputation not only for entertaining audiences but also for giving something back, making it an attractive choice for anyone who wants to combine a love of music with community fundraising.

A busy season ahead

The new season promises to be another busy one, with performances already scheduled for Remembrance Day events, a festival of choirs and a full programme of Christmas concerts, including a third consecutive appearance at Carols in the Square in Torrevieja.

Rehearsals restart on Thursday, 3 September, and take place every Thursday from 1.30 PM to 3.30 PM at The Club, Calle Toledo 24, Ciudad Quesada. The first rehearsal is free, with a small weekly subscription after that.
