FEGADO Festival returns to Dolores with five days of rural tradition and family entertainment

One of the Costa Blanca’s best-known agricultural celebrations is set to return as Dolores prepares to host another edition of FEGADO. Recognised as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, the event combines livestock, equestrian competitions, traditional crafts and family entertainment, attracting visitors from across Spain to celebrate the area’s rich rural heritage.

Dolores prepares for another FEGADO celebration

Dolores will once again celebrate one of Spain’s most important livestock fairs when FEGADO returns from the end of July into the first days of August.

Recognised as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, FEGADO is the only livestock fair of its kind in eastern Spain and has become one of the country’s leading agricultural events. The town is now seeking National Tourist Interest status to further raise its profile.

The main events take place between 30 July and 3 August at the La Alameda Fairground. One of the fair’s distinctive features is that many activities are held during the evening, avoiding the hottest part of the day.

Originally established as a livestock market in the 1940s and 1950s, FEGADO has grown into a major celebration of rural life and agricultural traditions.

Five days of competitions and entertainment

This year’s programme includes the National Classical Dressage Competition, the FEGADO Working Equitation Cup, horse and dog displays, traditional horse-drawn events, blacksmith demonstrations, the Livestock Pilgrimage and the popular Bull Jumping competition. Live music, fairground entertainment and the well-known “Cow Pat Lottery” also return.

The varied programme makes FEGADO one of the region’s most popular summer events, with activities designed to appeal to families, equestrian enthusiasts and anyone interested in traditional farming and country life.

Celebrating the traditions of Dolores
