It’s on the way, Benahavis Feria 2026 is getting ready to light up this August with plenty of food, drink and fun

Lights are being hung and dances are being rehearsed ready for Benahavis to turn into four days of non-stop entertainment. Running from Thursday, August 13 to Sunday, August 16, one thing is for sure, you won’t get bored.

Starting celebrations and sensory-friendly rides

Thursday evening sees the grand unveiling of the festivities, starting at 8pm when fairground rides open near the sports grounds. Organisers have introduced a noise-free period between 8pm and 9:30pm each day, allowing children with sensory sensitivities to enjoy the rides without loud music or flashing distractions. Official switching-on of the town illuminations takes place at 9:30pm at the fair entrance, where you will be wowed by street performers and treated to a complimentary welcome drink for visitors. Local resident Jessica Cardenas Garcia will deliver the traditional opening address at 10:30pm in Plaza de Espana, followed by the crowning of the fiesta queens and kings. For the night owls among you, dancing then continues well until the early hours of 6am across Plaza de Espana and Plaza del Pilar with live bands and orchestras.

Free paella, live music, and family entertainment

Friday, August 14 is all about the daytime fun with traditional children’s board games, drawing contests, and clay workshops starting at 1pm at the senior centre. Crowds gathering on Avenida de Andalucia at 2pm can enjoy live music from Sonia Berbel and Monica Garrido, complete with a delicious free paella for everyone attending. Local senior citizens registered in the town can attend a special tribute lunch in a village restaurant, where the annual election of the fair grandfather and grandmother takes place. Youngsters can tackle inflatable obstacle courses, foam cannons, and water games from 4pm.

Turning up the energy with thrilling motorcycle trials

Saturday brings a popular free barbecue on Avenida de Andalucía from 2pm, with by live performances from the popular Ana Vega and Eva Pinero. Devout attendees can participate in the Rociera Mass at 8pm in Plaza de Espana honouring patron saint Virgen del Rosario, followed by a solemn procession through village streets with the Jubrique brass band. Sunday morning starts with high-octane action as the 46th Benahavis Motorcycle Trial competition kicks off at 10am at the local sports centre. Afternoon visitors can sample free Spanish tortilla and gazpacho from 2pm, enjoy a massive 60 kg cake giveaway at 6pm, and watch the traditional ribbon race before a midnight firework display brings the 2026 feria to a close.
