Google co-founder’s €390m superyacht turns heads off Mallorca with two helipads and glass-bottom pool

One of the world’s most spectacular superyachts has made an eye-catching appearance off Mallorca, bringing a taste of extraordinary billionaire luxury to the island’s picturesque west coast.

Dragonfly, the 142-metre vessel reportedly owned by Google co-founder Sergey Brin, was spotted anchored off Deià on Monday, August 10, dwarfing many of the boats around it and attracting plenty of attention from shosergre.

The enormous yacht is estimated to be worth around €390m, while Brin himself is reported to have a fortune of approximately $265 billion, putting him among the wealthiest people on the planet.

A floating palace off Deià

At 142.1 metres long and 20 metres wide, Dragonfly is considerably longer than a standard football pitch and comes packed with the kind of features normally associated with a luxury resort.

Among its reported amenities are two helipads, a shaded swimming pool and a second pool with a glass bottom. Guests can also make use of a gym, beauty salon, games room and beach club while travelling between some of the Mediterranean’s most exclusive destinations.

The yacht can accommodate up to 24 guests across 12 cabins, while as many as 53 crew members can be on hand to keep the vast vessel operating.

Spread across five decks, Dragonfly offers approximately 2,000 square metres of living space. It also has a tender garage for storing smaller craft used to ferry guests between the yacht and shore.

Despite its huge size, Dragonfly is capable of reaching a top speed of around 24 knots.

Inside remains a mystery

The superyacht combines a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, while its exterior styling was created by renowned Argentine yacht designer Germán Frers. Italian studio Nauta Design was responsible for the interiors.

However, those hoping for a glimpse inside the billionaire’s floating retreat may be disappointed. Images of Dragonfly’s interior have not been publicly released, keeping much of its extravagant accommodation firmly behind closed doors.

Mallorca becomes billionaire yacht hotspot

Dragonfly’s arrival is the latest reminder of Mallorca’s growing appeal to the international super-rich.

The Balearics have long been a favourite Mediterranean cruising ground, but this summer has brought a particularly impressive collection of vessels to the island. Superyachts routinely move between hotspots including Mallorca, Saint-Tropez, Sardinia and the Greek islands during the Mediterranean season.

Dragonfly was not even the only famous vessel occupying the waters around Mallorca’s dramatic west coast.

Rising Sun, another of the world’s best-known superyachts, was also reported to be anchored nearby, with Hollywood stars Orlando Bloom and Matthew McConaughey said to be on board.

For visitors enjoying the much more modest pleasures of Mallorca’s coastline, the latest arrivals have effectively turned the waters off Deià into an impromptu superyacht show, with hundreds of millions of dollars of floating luxury visible against one of the island’s most spectacular backdrops.
