Animal lovers can enjoy homemade food, wine and live music while helping feed hundreds of rescued dogs and cats at a special ACE/SHIN fundraiser in Mijas Costa this October.
Afternoon of treats for ACE/SHIN
ACE/SHIN, the animal refuge caring for more than 500 dogs and 200 cats, is starting its fundraising season with an afternoon of tea and wine at Raquets Restaurant in Torrenueva on Thursday, October 1.
Doors open from 1pm, with just 70 tickets available. Entry costs €5, while food and drinks are paid for separately.
Guests can tuck into hand-cut sandwiches, homemade quiches, sausage rolls, cheese pies, cakes and plenty more. Food will be available to eat at the restaurant or take away, with all food sales going directly to the shelter.
Singer and guitarist Andy Time is also giving up his time to perform during the afternoon, adding some live entertainment to the charity event.
Raquets gives up a day’s takings
Restaurant proprietors Craig and Pauline are also making a generous contribution by giving up a day of normal lunch service so ACE/SHIN can hold the fundraiser at their venue.
Pauline prepares the food herself, using locally sourced ingredients and quality meat and fish. Raquets normally serves daily specials as well as an a la carte menu, with homemade food at reasonable prices in a relaxed setting. For this event, every food purchase will help the animals at ACE/SHIN.
€40,000 a month to care for animals
ACE/SHIN’s running costs have now reached around €40,000 a month, covering food, veterinary treatment, medicines and the everyday care needed by hundreds of animals.
Every ticket, sandwich, slice of cake and drink can therefore make a difference.
Tickets can be bought directly from Raquets Restaurant in Torrenueva or by contacting Marti on 666 860 637.
With only 70 tickets available, supporters are encouraged to book early and enjoy an afternoon that combines good food, live music and a very worthwhile cause.
