Midsupper Murder: one mystery, two victims and €400 raised

On Wednesday night, September 2, a murderer lurked in the shadows, claiming two lives in truly blood-thirsty fashion. The first, poisoned with a dose of Ketamine and the second hacked apart, only a satin-gloved hand left behind as evidence of the crime.

But on the bright side, over €400 was raised for local animal charities.

Midsupper Murder raises money for animal charities

Midsupper Murder’s most recent murder-mystery evening was a resounding success, the two victims aside. A cast of passionate local actors and writers came together, stepping into the shoes of eccentric characters with targets on their back and secrets to hide. As characters died one by one, it was down to the audience gathered at Terraza Lamarlo to collect evidence and find the culprit before they killed again.

The evening combined murder mystery entertainment, local talent and fundraising for animal charities, giving everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy an unusual night out while supporting worthy causes.

There was no script, only brief outlines, making for a truly unpredictable and one-of-a-kind night. Costumes and props were sourced from the APSA second hand shop in Albox, meaning all net profit could be donated to worthy causes. The use of second-hand costumes and props also helped create the eccentric characters and mysterious atmosphere that made the evening such an entertaining experience.

A night of mystery, murder and fundraising

In total, €380 was raised through ticket sales for Podfather, a local Podenco sanctuary, and an additional €100 was raised via the raffle and tombola for APSA, The Animal Protection Society of Albox.

The fundraising was an important part of the evening, with the event bringing together people who wanted to enjoy a murder mystery while also helping local animal charities. The combination of entertainment and fundraising made for a memorable evening, with the money raised going directly towards organisations supporting animals in the local community.

Despite being a night defined by lies and murder, spirits were high and all in attendance had a brilliant time. With no fixed script and the action unfolding as the evening progressed, both the cast and audience were kept guessing about what would happen next.

Sixth Midsupper Murder planned for January 2027

Anticipation is now high for the sixth Midsupper Murder evening, set for January 2027. Following the success of the latest murder-mystery evening, expectations are already building for another night of eccentric characters, suspicious behaviour, unexpected deaths and plenty of clues for the audience to uncover.

With local actors and writers once again bringing the characters to life, the next Midsupper Murder promises another unpredictable evening where nobody can be quite sure who they can trust. And, as with previous events, there will be an opportunity to have a brilliant night out while helping worthy local animal charities.
