Calpe’s spectacular Moors and Christians festival wins major national honour after 50 years of history

Calpe’s famous Moors and Christians celebrations have been given a major national boost after receiving an official tourism distinction that recognises their cultural importance and growing appeal to visitors.

The spectacular festival, known for its colourful costumes, dramatic parades, music, fireworks and historic re-enactments, has been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest by Spain’s Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
