New funding boost for Marina Alta as six communities share €300,000

Six inter-municipal associations serving communities across the Marina Alta are among those receiving a share of €300,000 in new funding from the Valencian Government.

The financial support is designed to help cover the everyday running costs of these organisations during 2026, supporting the shared services they provide to residents across several municipalities.

Six Marina Alta associations included

A total of 59 inter-municipal associations across the Valencian Community will benefit from the funding.

In the Marina Alta, recipients include the Marina Alta Regional Inter-Municipal Association and the Marina Alta Social Services Association.

The Vall del Pop Inter-Municipal Association is also included, together with the Pego, l’Atzúvia and les Valls Social Services and Tourism Association.

Other beneficiaries are the Calpe, Murla and Vall de Laguar-Pozo Lucifer Inter-Municipal Association and the Vall de Laguar and Orba Inter-Municipal Association.

The funding is intended to help these organisations meet their operating costs and continue providing services shared by neighbouring municipalities.

What can the money be used for?

The grants can cover a wide range of essential day-to-day expenses.

These include rent, repairs, maintenance and conservation of facilities, as well as office and computer equipment.

Basic running costs such as electricity, water, gas and fuel are also eligible, along with cleaning and communications expenses.

The funding can additionally be used for certain external services, including technical studies and work carried out by specialist companies.

This gives the associations greater financial support to maintain their operations and continue coordinating services across different municipalities.

Sustainability forms part of the funding

The Valencian Government has also set conditions for how the money should be used.

The beneficiary organisations are expected to follow principles of social responsibility, transparency and modern public administration.

Purchasing decisions should also take into account fair trade, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The funding therefore aims to do more than help cover basic administrative costs. It is also intended to encourage municipalities to work together, share resources and deliver services more efficiently.

For communities across the Marina Alta, the financial support will help strengthen the organisations responsible for coordinating important shared services throughout 2026.
