Reconnecting with your local community is an important and special thing to do. Age concern have just made it easier for the older community living along the Costa del Sol to socialise in Fuengirola, Mijas & Benalmadena with their new updated weekly schedule packed with gatherings, gentle fitness classes, and confidential guidance.

Weekly activities at the Fuengirola centre

On Mondays and Tuesdays, coffee mornings and book exchanges run from 11am to 1pm at the main facility located on Calle Iglesia 44, Los Boliches. Visitors can drop in for hot drinks, browse shared novels, and enjoy friendly conversation.

Wednesdays focus on gentle movement to help attendees maintain mobility. Seated exercises run from 2pm to 3pm, followed immediately by Pilates. Qualified instruction keeps movement safe to avoid injury. High demand means waiting lists are currently open for both options. Anyone keen to attend must book in advance by contacting Ruth on +44 7966 948642.

Thursday afternoons will soon host fun bingo and games sessions between 2pm and 4pm, with official start dates to be confirmed. Fridays offer dedicated welfare advice appointments from 10am until 2pm, ensuring direct guidance is easily accessible for personal or administrative matters.

Convenient drop-in locations across the area

Running from September through June, weekly drop-in clubs provide easy contact points across several neighbouring locations

Benalmadena: Mondays, 11am to 1pm at Chino Pekin Restaurant, Av. Gamonal 11.
Los Boliches: Thursdays, 11am to 1pm at Tenencia de Alcaldia, Calle Pescado 101B.
La Cala de Mijas: Fridays, 11am to 1pm at Pena Flamenca del Sur, P.º Costa del Sol 1.
Mijas Pueblo: First and third Tuesday of every month, 12am to 2pm at Bar Carmen, Avenida Virgen de la Peña 5.

Loneliness can quietly creep in when residing far from friends and family. Dedicated volunteers running this charity understand those challenges, providing welcoming spaces where older adults build meaningful friendships, stay active, and access essential advice.
