Jet2 expands Spain flights with more UK seats on Almería and other key routes

Flying to and from the UK just got a little easier for British homeowners, holidaymakers and others travelling through Almería Airport, with more seats being added to a key UK route next spring. The extra capacity gives people more choice when planning trips around Easter and the start of the 2027 holiday season, particularly for those who need to travel between the two countries.

The extra seats will be available on the Leeds Bradford-Almería route between April 3 and April 24, 2027, giving passengers more opportunities to make the journey during the early part of the season.

More seats between Almería and Leeds

The increase comes from British airline Jet2, which is expanding its summer 2027 programme in response to strong demand for holidays at the beginning and end of the traditional summer season. For Almería, the change is focused specifically on the connection with Leeds Bradford Airport. The additional seats will be available from April 3 to April 24, extending Jet2’s offering at the start of the season.

The route is particularly useful for people travelling between northern England and southeastern Spain, including those visiting friends and family, holidaying in the province or travelling to second homes. With extra capacity available around Easter, passengers will have more options when arranging their journeys rather than having to fit their plans around a smaller number of available seats.

Jet2 adds capacity across Spain

Almería is one of several Spanish destinations benefiting from Jet2’s latest expansion. The airline is adding capacity across 22 routes from nine UK airports, including Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and London Stansted. Several of the additional Spanish services are being concentrated around the beginning of the summer season.

Jet2 is extending its operations between Edinburgh and Reus from April 6 to April 27, while Glasgow-Reus will receive additional flights from April 3 to April 24. Liverpool’s connection with Reus will also be extended from April 4 to April 25. The airline is also extending the East Midlands-Girona service from April 5 to April 26. Almería’s Leeds Bradford connection therefore joins a larger expansion of early-season flights between the UK and Spain.

More Spanish routes extended

The changes also include destinations outside mainland Spain. Jet2 is adding capacity between Leeds Bradford and Palma de Mallorca from July 2 to September 24, 2027, while its Manchester-Mahón route will also have an extended April operation. The airline is also increasing its programme to destinations in Greece, Italy and Croatia, including Crete, Kalamata, Kefalonia, Halkidiki, Verona, Naples and Dubrovnik.

Jet2 customer director David Hills said the airline had seen continued demand for holidays at the beginning and end of the summer season, as well as during the traditional peak period. The additional seats are intended to give travellers and independent travel agents more choice when selecting dates and destinations for 2027. For passengers using Almería Airport, the immediate change is straightforward: more seats on the Leeds Bradford route from April 3 to April 24, 2027, providing additional capacity between the UK and southeastern Spain before the main summer season gets underway.
