If your idea of an ideal Sunday afternoon involves fast tempos, overdriven guitars, and a room full of people shouting along to immortal rock anthems, mark your calendar for Sunday, October 11. Benidorm’s live music scene is getting a sharp shot of adrenaline as punk rock trio Dead Francos prepare to take over The Soul Bar for an early afternoon session guaranteed to shake up the day.

A Sunday session of punk rock and classic hits in Benidorm

Dead Francos is a punk and rock cover band originally from San Pedro del Pinatar, but they often make appearances and play gigs all along the Costa Blanca, and this October, they’ll be rocking in Benidorm. Kicking off early at 2:00pm, this is a far cry from your standard sleepy Sunday matinee. Dead Francos are set to resurrect all those legendary, high-octane tracks from a golden age of rock.

Rock fans can look forward to the raw, classic energy of The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Damned, and Buzzcocks, alongside the relentless leather-jacket pace of the Ramones and northern Irish punk anthems from Stiff Little Fingers and The Undertones. Adding a unique international edge, the trio even throws in cuts from Swedish punk pioneers Ebba Grön and heavy-hitting street-punk tracks from Sham 69 and the Anti-Nowhere League.

The sounds don’t stop at traditional punk, however: visitors will also get to enjoy genres including hard rock, post-punk, and alternative rock, as the group performs timeless bangers from Iggy Pop, Motörhead, The Jam, and Talking Heads, while weaving in beloved indie and alt-rock records from Green Day, Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis, and REM.

A high-energy atmosphere in The Soul Bar

The Soul Bar will provide the ideal backdrop to grab a cold drink, soak in the high-voltage atmosphere, and leave your weekend quiet time at the door. Whether you’re an old-school punk head ready to pogo, a new rock fan looking to hear some true classics, or simply hunting for genuine live energy, visitors are encouraged to get in early, grab a pint, and prepare for a Sunday party that will turn the volume all the way up.
