Pool and folk music groups welcome new faces in Torre de la Horadada and Playa Flamenca

Residents looking for a new social activity can choose between pool in Torre de la Horadada and traditional music in Playa Flamenca, with two local groups welcoming new faces.

The Nordic Breeze is recruiting players for a team entering the new Premium Pool League, while McCoy’s Bar is restarting its weekly traditional music sessions following a summer break. Both activities combine a shared interest with the chance to meet people in a relaxed setting.

The Nordic Breeze, on Calle Mar Baltico, is looking for players interested in combining friendly competition with a sociable night out each week.

Matches will take place on Tuesday evenings, with the team particularly keen to hear from local pool enthusiasts who would like to become involved in the new league.

Organisers say the emphasis will be on having fun while competing as a team, giving players the opportunity to meet others with the same interest and enjoy regular games.

The venue is at Calle Mar Baltico 6 in Torre de la Horadada, within Pilar de la Horadada municipality and close to the coast.

Traditional music returns to Playa Flamenca

Traditional music is returning to Playa Flamenca as McCoy’s Bar restarts its weekly Thursday night sessions after a summer break.

The informal gatherings resume on Thursday, September 24, from 8:00 PM and are then scheduled to continue at the same time every Thursday.

Musicians and singers are invited to bring their instruments and join in, but there is no requirement to perform. Customers can simply sit back with a drink and enjoy the live music.

Traditional music sessions differ from conventional concerts, with musicians playing together rather than following a fixed stage programme. As a result, both the line-up and selection of tunes can change each week depending on who attends.

Anyone who plays an instrument or enjoys singing is welcome to join the circle, while friends, spectators and other music lovers can come along simply to listen and enjoy the evening.
