Malaga’s 2027 holidays are confirmed, 14 days off, a four-day Easter break and long weekends for you to get planning

How the 14 days break down

Andalucia’s 2027 calendar has twelve national and regional holidays. Each local town then adds two local days. Malaga city council approved August 19 and September 8, marking the city’s incorporation into the Crown of Castile and the feast of Our Lady of Victory. However if you live elsewhere on the Costa del Sol your town will have its own two local dates, so check with your local town council website page.

Two of the 14 days fall on a Saturday (May 1 and December 25), which leaves 12 days off for Monday-to-Friday workers.

2027 dates, month by month

Friday, January 1 – New Year’s Day
Wednesday, January 6 – Epiphany, also known as Three Kings’ Day
Monday, March 1 – Andalucia Day. It normally falls on February 28, but that is a Sunday in 2027, so the day off moves to the following Monday.
Thursday, March 25 and Friday, March 26 – Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, part of Semana Santa (Holy Week), giving a four-day break
Saturday, May 1 – Labour Day
Monday, August 16 – the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, moved from Sunday 15 August
Thursday, August 18 – Malaga’s first local holiday
Wednesday, September 8 – Malaga’s second local holiday
Tuesday, October 12 – Spain’s National Day
Monday, November 1 – All Saints’ Day
Monday, December 6 – Constitution Day
Wednesday, December 8 – the Immaculate Conception
Saturday, December 25 – Christmas Day

Still to come in 2026

You don’t have to wait until January for your bank holidays. All Saints’ Day falls on a Sunday this year, so the day off moves to Monday, November 2. Constitution Day moves from Sunday, December 6 to Monday, December 7, adding onto the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday, December 8. Before that, October 12 falls on a Monday, giving a three-day weekend, and Christmas Day on Friday, December 25 brings another long weekend.
