Music lovers in Calpe have plenty to look forward to this autumn as the XV Festival Internacional de Música y Baile de Otoño, or the International Music and Dance Autumn Festival, returns with a programme of live performances spanning from October to December.
An autumn of culture in Calpe: What to expect from this year’s festival
Organised by PAL-MUSIC, in collaboration with the Calpe Town Council’s Department of Culture, the incredible fifteenth edition of the festival will once again take place at the Saló Blau in the Casa de Cultura, offering the perfect setting for the high-quality concerts. The series will officially begin on Thursday, October 15 at 8:00pm, marking the start of an event that will blend classical music with international influences.
Opening night brings Argentine tango to the Costa Blanca
Opening the festival is Art Tango Ensemble, bringing the passion and elegance of Argentine tango to the stage. This first concert will dazzle audiences with a dynamic mix of traditional tango sounds and contemporary arrangements, setting the tone for the rest of the season.
Piano performances and festive finale announced
The programme continues on November 12, when acclaimed pianist Sebastiano Brusco will take centre stage for a passionate solo recital. Known for his expressive style and technical precision, Brusco’s performance will appeal to both classical enthusiasts and general audiences. Finally, the festival will close on December 3 with a festive Christmas-themed concert by Duo Metro-Foni, featuring piano performed four hands. The repertoire will include waltzes and polkas, offering a lively and seasonal finale to the series.
Each concert begins at 8:00pm, with tickets priced at €15 and available from 7:00pm on the day at the venue. For those planning to attend multiple performances, a subscription for all three concerts is also available at a reduced rate, making it an attractive option for regular attendees.
With its special lineup and variety of talented artists, the festival continues to be a cultural highlight in Calpe’s autumn calendar. Whether attending a single evening or the full series, audiences can enjoy a season of elegant performances that celebrate music and dance in a cultural hub of the Costa Blanca.
