The Oktoberfest Paulaner has officially kicked off in Murcia, bringing Bavarian tradition, lively music and delicious beer back to the capital of the region with a lively opening that is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors over the coming days. The festival opened in the Jardín Chino with its traditional beer-tapping ceremony, setting the tone for nearly two weeks of celebrations running until October 12.

A lively Oktoberfest launch

From the outset, Murcia has perfectly recreated the atmosphere of the iconic German festival, complete with long communal tables, themed décor and staff dressed in traditional Bavarian attire. The popular event features authentic German cuisine, including sausages, pretzels and roast meats, alongside Paulaner beer, one of the six historic breweries associated with Munich’s original Oktoberfest.

A special Bavarian atmosphere in Murcia

The event, which kicked off on the first day of October, is drawing countless locals and visitors to the Costa Calida hub city. The opening days have already seen a steady flow of visitors, many gathering to enjoy the festive live music, social atmosphere, and mouth-watering food that define the event. With free entry, varied food options and a central location in the heart of the city, Murcia’s Oktoberfest Paulaner is expected to keep numbers high, particularly over the weekend of October 10 and 11.

A packed programme of entertainment in the region’s capital

Still only getting started, the programme promises a packed calendar of entertainment. Live concerts and DJ sessions are scheduled throughout the festival, creating a dynamic mix of traditional and modern genres, including indie rock, pop rock, and international hits. Local bands Conecta2, PLAY GRND, and Indigo are set to take the stage for fiery, show-stealing appearances. Special themed nights and interactive activities and games are also set to take place, offering something beyond food and drink for attendees.

Blending culture, community and cuisine

As the festival kicks into high gear, organisers are encouraging visitors to plan ahead for exciting upcoming performances, delicious food, and a festive Bavarian feel all throughout the Jardín Chino and the city as a whole. With its blend of culture, community and entertainment, Oktoberfest Paulaner Murcia will certainly be one of the standout events on the region’s autumn calendar, and its successful kickoff is already making waves across the Costa Calida.
