Residents, visitors, and all lovers of the jazz music genre have wonderful weeks ahead at the end of October through to mid-November, as the Cartagena Jazz Festival returns for its 45th edition. Running from 29 October to 15 November, the Cartagena Jazz Festival will bring together major international jazz artists and some of the most distinctive voices on the Spanish music scene, creating a programme that seasoned jazz aficionados and newcomers to the genre alike can enjoy.

A stellar jazz line-up

The 2026 edition promises an eclectic line-up that reflects the breadth and diversity of contemporary jazz, bringing together internationally recognised performers, innovative artists and some of the most exciting names emerging from the Spanish jazz scene. Audiences at the Auditorio El Batel can look forward to standout performances by Ibrahim Maalouf, Andrea Motis, Nubiyan Twist, Kenny Barron, Kurt Elling & The Yellowjackets, Rocío Márquez, Rita Payés & Lucía Fumero, Samara Joy and Niño Josele. Together, the artists will showcase a wide range of styles and influences, from traditional jazz and contemporary sounds to flamenco, soul and other vibrant musical genres.

Music serenades the whole of Cartagena

The festival’s programme will also reach the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, offering audiences the chance to see performances by Micah P. Hinson, Izo FitzRoy and Nacho Vegas. Meanwhile, El Batel’s terrace will provide the perfect backdrop for concerts by Pantera Blue, Tito Ramírez and La Perra Blanco, adding yet another dimension to this year’s celebrations.

Free performances and vibrant local talent

As part of its wider programme, the festival will also, once more, bring jazz into the centre of the city, with free daytime performances taking place in public areas and venues. Mood Swing, Gata Brass Band and the Conservatory Big Band will create a lively atmosphere throughout Cartagena, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy live music, no ticket needed.

The festival will also continue its support for the city’s local and emerging music scene with a series of concerts at Mister Witt Café. These performances add a more informal element to the festival and provide a platform for artists while encouraging audiences to discover new talent.

45 incredible years of jazz

Now in its impressive 45th edition, the Cartagena Jazz Festival is one of Spain’s longest-running jazz festivals. Its combination of internationally acclaimed musicians, fresh musical perspectives, local talent and free events ensures that jazz remains an important and accessible part of Cartagena’s cultural scene.
