There is plenty happening across the Costa Blanca this October, with live music, dining, shopping and community activities offering something for different tastes. The Lizberries will celebrate the music of The Cranberries on the Orihuela Costa, while Lorna Michelle performs in Algorfa. Elsewhere, a new La Florida market is supporting animal rescue and the Community Care Association is looking for residents keen to share their skills.

Cranberries tribute brings classic hits to Los Cucalos

Cranberries fans can revisit the sound of the much-loved Irish rock band when The Lizberries perform at Restaurante Los Cucalos on Saturday, October 17.

Billed as one of Europe’s leading Cranberries tribute acts, The Lizberries will bring the band’s distinctive catalogue to the Orihuela Costa for an evening of live music and dancing.

The set will feature some of The Cranberries’ best-known songs, including Linger, Dreams and Zombie, celebrating the music made famous by Dolores O’Riordan and her bandmates.

The Cranberries emerged from Limerick in the early 1990s and went on to achieve international success, with O’Riordan’s unmistakable vocals becoming central to their sound. Their music continues to attract listeners decades after their breakthrough.

Doors at Los Cucalos open at 7:00 PM, allowing guests time for food and drinks before The Lizberries take to the stage at 8:30 PM.

Tickets cost €25 per person, with food and drinks available separately from the venue during the evening.

Restaurante Los Cucalos is at Avenida de Montezenia 1, Orihuela Costa, close to Los Dolses and Villamartin.

Tickets for the October 17 concert are available through Rewind Spain, with online booking and further information at rewindspain.es.

Lorna Michelle brings Friday entertainment to Algorfa

Live entertainment and dinner are on the menu at Lo Crispin Tavern in Algorfa on Friday, October 16, when singer Lorna Michelle takes to the stage.

The evening begins with food served from 7:00 PM, followed by Lorna Michelle’s live show at 9:00 PM, giving diners time to enjoy their meal before the music gets underway.

A meal and the show cost €15 per person. The evening specials include linguine with prawns and sweet chilli sauce, gammon steak with chips and peas, or steak pie with chips and peas, followed by dessert.

Vegetarian choices are also available, including vegetable lasagne and vegetable curry, while the tavern’s full menu offers further options for those wanting something different. Children aged up to 12 can choose from the kids’ menu.

Tables will be allocated according to the time bookings are received, so anyone hoping to attend is advised to reserve in advance.

Lorna Michelle is no stranger to local audiences, and her appearance adds another live music night to Lo Crispin Tavern’s regular entertainment calendar.

The venue is at Avenida Las Naciones 55A, Algorfa, 03169.

Wednesday market supports Happy Pets Rescue

Shoppers can browse for bargains while supporting animal rescue at the new Wednesday Market at The Emerald Isle in La Florida.

The market is being held every Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, bringing together stalls and local sellers at the popular Orihuela Costa venue.

Among those taking part is Jewellery Para Ti, offering new jewellery and accessories, while the weekly market is also helping to raise awareness and support for Happy Pets Rescue.

The animal rescue organisation works to help cats and kittens in need, making the market another opportunity for local residents to support animal welfare while enjoying a morning out.

Community Care Association seeks local skills

The Community Care Association is looking for local people willing to share their skills, hobbies and experience as it begins developing its 2026-2027 programme on the Orihuela Costa.

The CCA is inviting residents to suggest activities they could teach or lead, with possibilities ranging from music, dance and photography to mindfulness, crafts and creative writing.

Professional teaching experience is not required. Instead, the organisation is interested in people who have knowledge or a hobby they enjoy and would be happy to pass on to others.

The appeal is also open to ideas beyond the activities already suggested, giving residents the opportunity to propose something new that could become part of the programme.

The CCA hopes the initiative will create more opportunities for people to learn new skills while meeting others in the community. It could also give people with years of experience in a particular subject the chance to put that knowledge to use locally.

Anyone interested can contact the organisation with details of the skill or activity they would like to share. CCA will then explore how the idea could potentially fit into its forthcoming programme.

Suggestions can be sent by email to oc.communitycare@gmail.com.
