The combined wealth of the 100 people ranked has reached a record €300.53 billion, while Zara founder Amancio Ortega remains comfortably at number one with €125.2 billion.

Ortega’s estimated wealth rose by €15.3 billion as Inditex shares recovered. His fortune alone represents about 42 per cent of the total wealth on the list. These are estimates of personal wealth, including company stakes and other assets. They do not mean the money is held as cash.

Business fortunes rise across Spain

Several of the largest fortunes are tied to businesses familiar to people across Spain. Mercadona’s Juan Roig and Hortensia Herrero are third and sixth, while Florentino Pérez ranks seventh through his stake in construction group ACS.

Tomás Olivo, owner of General de Galerías Comerciales, is valued at €4.9 billion. Mallorca based Miguel Fluxà, executive president of Iberostar, is valued at €4.1 billion.

Andalusia also features in the ranking. Mayoral owner Manuel Domínguez de la Maza and his family are valued at €1.5 billion, putting them at number 35. The Cosentino family, whose business began in Macael, Almería, is ranked 86th with €670 million.

New names make the list

The 2026 ranking includes several newcomers. Fernando Masaveu enters at number 30 with an estimated €1.7 billion through the family group’s interests in energy, banking, industry and property.

Cox Group president Enrique Riquelme makes his debut at number 90 with €620 million. The estimated fortune needed to enter the list has risen to €510 million.

The combined wealth of those on this year’s list has more than doubled in four years, according to RTVE’s report on the ranking. The figures show how fortunes connected to listed companies can change as share prices move.
