AN Almeria businessman has arrived in Santiago de Compostela after walking barefoot for 68 days to keep a promise.
His mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and he promised that if she survived he would walk from his hometown of Roquetas de Mar, 1,420 kilometres to Santiago.
It was later found that the diagnosis had been a mistake and Antonio kept his promise.
He has been accompanied by a team carrying out a report on his quest, including two remote control helicopters.
He has faced all kinds of weather and says that although his feet are covered in cuts, he has no blisters as he wasn’t wearing shoes.
