EROTIC: Picasso’s sold painting has a strong sexual charge, art experts say.
AN oil painting from Malaga-born Pablo Picasso, featuring his mistress alongside tulips and fruit – “Nature morte aux tulipes” – sold for $41.5 million (€32.6 million) at Sotheby’s in New York. The pre-sale estimate for the work had been between $35 and 50 million (€27.5 – 39.3 million).
