GERMAN students were warmly welcomed to Almuñecar, thanks to an exchange programme with the town’s International School.
On Friday March 13 at the Palacete La Najarra, Institutional Relations councillor, Maria del Mar Medina, greeted a group of students from Fürstenfelbruck, located in the region of Bavaria. Almuñecar and the German city became twin towns back in 2005.
The students were provided with tourist material, and were able to enjoy a guided tour around the main points of interest of the town.
In return, they delivered several gifts on behalf of their town council.
They will be staying at the homes of local students who have also visited Fürstenfelbruck. Almuñecar International School teacher, Constance Schubart, explained that this kind of exchange programme has been taking place since 2011 with a great level of success.
“I wish them a wonderful stay amongst us and hope that they will become the best ambassadors for our town,” said the councillor.
