MAYOR ANA MULA: Said the mural’s nautical theme was perfect for the seaside town of Fuengirola.
THE El Boquetillo district of Fuengirola has received a colourful, new addition in the shape of Mar de Regata, a mural depicting a sailing competition.
Local mayor, Ana Mula, and Town-Planning councilor, Ana Mata, unveiled the impressive 200-square-metre mural, the first in a project intended to cheer up the look of the town.
The mural, painted by Jose Fernandez Rios, an artist from Jaen whose work can be seen on many Spanish streets including the Gran Via in Madrid, took one month to paint on two four-storey buildings on Calle Menorca and cost a total of €18,000.
