A FIRE broke out early this morning (June 24) in the area behind St Anthony’s College in Mijas Costa, the second serious incident of this sort in the area in as many weeks.The fire was believed to have started around 7am. Firefighters were in attendance, although initial attempts to bring in aircraft to tackle the blaze were thwarted by high winds. However, by 10am, Infoca firefighters said weather conditions had calmed and they had six planes working on the flames.Meanwhile the fire burning since Tuesday morning (June 23) in the Pizarra area of the Guadalhorce valley was declared ‘stabilised’ at 6.46am today.
