PARENTS in difficult situations across Velez-Malaga can rest assured their children will be guaranteed their basic food needs.The Social Action Department of the town council has announced minors enrolled in the different summer schools to take place in public centres during the season will be provided with meals, with a total of 460 places being offered for children with ages ranging between 4 and 13 years old.“Some of the children at the summer camps, whose families are being helped by the town’s social services, did not have their food needs covered,” said head of the department, Zoila Martin. “The council will cover this issue with vouchers which can be exchanged in local supermarkets.”The summer camps will take place in schools including Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, Antonio Checa and Torrejaral, with 150 out of 300 places without cost as the children belong to families at risk of poverty.
