THE Youth councillor of Cartagena, Ricardo Segado, and the coordinator for the Youth Resource Centre, José María Lloret, have presented an impressive youth programme for the summer that includes no less than 70 activities scheduled between July and September. The programme was put together on a budget of €10,000 involving 16 clubs and associations.Included in the planned activities are a number of beach activities and water-based events to help everyone to stay cool. Snorkelling, kayaking, rafting and catamaran rides are all featured on the agenda and also a bike ride through the Calasparra rice fields.A total of 3,800 people took part in the programme last year and the activities are designed to be both interesting and economically priced to appeal to everyone. The events are 50 per cent subsidised and this year attendance is expected to be even higher.
