THE most important natural attraction in Motril, the Suarez Wetlands, will soon have new facilities designed to attract more visitors.
Mayor of the town, Flor Almon, explained in a visit to the area that the council was currently working on the creation of a butterfly park, which could possibly be finished after the summer season.
The space will be filled with specific plants to attract different kinds of butterflies. The finishing touches are currently being put to rest areas for visitors, where workshops will also take place.
Several activities are already taking place in the area such as environment courses, guided tours, photography meet-ups, charity events and school visits, as well as the ‘Senses Wetland,’ where people with different kinds of disabilities can enjoy their surroundings through activities specially designed for them.
