A CRIMINAL network which apparently forced women into prostitution has been dismantled by National Police in Manresa (Barcelona).Six members of the gang have been arrested and are believed to have been advertising sexual services of their victims for the past six years. In a statement, National Police reported that 10 victims have been set free, one of whom was kept locked up in a room and prevented from eating until she consented to carry out prostitution activities. The women, of different nationalities – including a Spanish woman – were recruited through false promises of being offered a job that the organisation advertised on newspapers and the internet.A Ukrainian man, together with his partner and sister, are believed to be the leaders of this criminal network.
