POLICE came to the rescue of a 12-year-old boy who nearly drowned in a private pool in Torrevieja. The two Local Police offices arrived at the complex in La Loma and found the child by the pool, unconscious and without a pulse. Carrying out emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the boy began to respond and was taken to Torrevieja Hospital before being transferred to the intensive care unit at Alicante General. It is believed the youngster has a medical history of heart disease. He was on holiday with his family from Madrid.
