MIJAS Council has reinforced cleaning and rubbish collection services at 30 strategic points in the municipality to solve recent problems with rubbish.The increase in population in the area at this time of year has led to a demand for better services, which Mayor Juan Carlos Maldonado said was logical: “Citizens pay their taxes and it’s normal for them to insist on decent services in return.”The routes of three lorries have been changed to allow organic waste to be collected on a daily basis, explained Marcos Cortes, Cleaning and Solid Waste Councillor.
