FOUR tonnes of undeclared dangerous goods were intercepted by Guardia Civil at Palma Port.
Amongst the dangerous substances being transported by lorry from the mainland there were acids and other corrosive liquids.
Guardia Civil explained that they had studied companies which sent goods via Palma Port and may deal with dangerous substances. They then obtained the registration numbers of lorries which could carry such substances and which frequently travelled between Mallorca and mainland Spain.
The goods are hidden behind a visible load of other items which do not need to comply with transport safety restrictions in order to reduce costs.
