Marine awareness in La Herradura

THE La Herradura civic centre hosted a round table under the name ‘the marine ecosystem and the local economy,’ which highlighted important issues for the future of this sector in the town.

The event was organised by the Costa Tropical Friends of the Sea, with the collaboration of the La Herradura Council, and the Traders Association of La Herradura, as well as other government representatives.

Discussions revolved around reducing the lack of information available to the public on the extensive marine attractions of the town, and improve its promotion in schools, amongst other lines of action.

Deputy mayor in La Herradura, Juan Jose Ruiz Joya, said the local government has an interest to recuperate a failed project to create ‘Underwater Park,’ of which no more information was released.
