FRENCH President Francois Hollande has now released information that the attacks in Paris were undertaken by agents of ISIS and that the strategy of the attacks was planned from outside France which effectively confirms statement made by alleged representatives of that organisation on social media which includes a statement ‘we will continue to hurt France whilst they continue to hurt us’, indicating the country would not live in peace as long as it kept up its collaborations with the US-led anti-terrorist coalition responsible for the bombings in Iraq & Syria. The group claimed the attacks were designed to show France that it remained a top target.

Meanwhile in Paris, the authorities have announced a ban on public demonstrations or protest marches as a security measure until at least Thursday. They have encouraged anyone intending to organise a private group acts to either up their security or delay them.

A video released earlier by the group, which had not included any dates or claims of responsibility for the attacks contained a voice-over stating “While you keep bombing, you won’t live in peace. You’ll even be scared to go to the market”.

The British Foreign Office has announced a telephone number for people worried about British residents who have been injured in Paris which is 00 44 207 008 0000 and the Irish government has issued its own number 00 353 1 0408 2000 for those with Irish relatives.

In associated news, U2 who were due to play at the Bercy Arena just a few miles from the Bataclan tonight (November 14) have cancelled their concert and it is likely that the friendly football match between and England and France to take place on Tuesday November 17 will also be cancelled as a mark of respect.

Also in possibly related news, the North Terminal at Gatwick Airport was evacuated this morning (November 14) due to the discovery of a ‘suspect package’
