DANNY DEVITIO: The living legend is in Palma for EMIFF.
THIS weekend the Evolution! Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF) officially gets underway after months of anticipation. The fifth edition of the popular festival will feature 17 films, 15 documentaries, 30 shorts and a dozen music videos. As the ‘invited country’ there will be a great deal of focus on German art, although Spanish film ‘El destierro’ will see in the opening night. With many stars and acting talent, both local and international, set to attend, perhaps the biggest coup is the participation of American legend Danny DeVito. The ‘Twins’ and ‘Taxi’ star will be awarded for his outstanding cinematic career and also attend the premiere of his own directorial effort ‘Curmudgeons.’ The festival begins in Palma on November 3 and will run 10 tremendous days until November 12. It is one of Europe’s hottest new film festivals and will see thousands of cinephiles from 20 countries across the world attend this year.
