MARBELLA council is giving €320,000 to support the work and programmes of Aspandem, Valores and the Association of Deaf People Marbella-San Pedro
Mayor Ángeles Muñoz, signed four agreements with the associations an d hghlighted “the exceptional work they do”, saying they deserve municipal support so that they can continue to carry out their activities and initiatives.
Aspandem – which works with handicapped people – gets two grants totalling €296,000 to support its nursery and professional practices, and to continue providing assistance programs. It has about 650 users and provides comprehensive care to them in Marbella and the Costa del Sol.
President of the association, María José Morales, said that the City Council funds represent an important boost and added that the council “always respond quickly to our demands and needs.”
The association Valores gets €14,000 to maintain its programmes that help integration at all levels to people with disabilities. In this regard, the mayor stated that the funds will help the organisation continue to contribute significantly in improving the quality of life of these people.
Muñoz also signed an agreement with the association of Deaf People of Marbella-San Pedro Alcántara, also for an amount of €14,000. This will be mainly used to pay for an interpreter service.
