THE National Police have arrested a teenager for the murder of a 46-year old woman in Madrid, Spain.
As reported by sources close to the capital’s police headquarters, a minor under the age of 16-years-old has been detained in custody where they are accused of stabbing a woman to death on Tuesday, January 14.
The brutal murder sent shockwaves through the country due to the violent nature of the crime, where the victim was found in the middle of a Calle Reina Sofia suffering from a deep stab wound in her chest. It is believed that the woman had ran for her life after being viscously stabbed inside the shop that she worked, collapsing on the ground soon after.
The victim has ben found by a local resident who immediately called the 112 emergency hotline requesting urgent help. An ambulance and police unit arrived at the scene a short time later, transferring the woman to Infanta Cristina Hospital. However, she sadly died a few minutes after arriving at the hospital.
Officers working on the case have indicated that the woman was stabbed after her shop was robbed, where it is reported that she had been the victim and her son had been subjected to multiple thefts in the past, including being strangled to a state of unconsciousness.
