According to sources from la Junta de Andalucia, patient zero has been identified as a young man who plays baseball and frequently travels to Granada to practice this sport.
The epidemiology branch has gotten in touch with all close contacts and relatives, as well as the baseball team with whom he had dinner before being diagnosed.
All of the individuals involved have been forced to quarantine and are undergoing PCR testing as well as serological studies. This has involved people living in both Malaga and Granada.
This is the second outbreak identified in Malaga as an outbreak in the Red Cross Reception centre has amounted to an additional 91 cases.
However, the Junta de Andalucia has assured that these outbreaks are “under control” and contained.
